Rigler József was a real industrial pioneer in Hungary. Started as a distributor of imported goods focusing on stationery, soon he became pressman, factory owner and seller of own products. There was a wide range of papers, drawing supplies and stationery in his offer.

1881 – Extend his business to produce own drawing tools and stationery.
1894 – Enterprise change to limited company.
1909 – The founder’s death.

History

Rigler József Ede (1847-1909) started in 1871 as a merchant with a paper shop (address? illustration?) selling imported goods at Budapest. Soon he extended his business with a small printing office, bookbinding operation and ruler production.

Worth to mention that at the end of 1870s Schuler József was worked here as an apprentice and learned from him.

From 1881 he went higher level in business and instead of importing products he was started to manufacture own produced drawing tools, stationery, rulers and pencil cases. He bought land at VI. Budapest, Rózsa street 55 and built a factory.
